We get asked a lot of Questions about the Buying and Selling of Tungsten Carbide Scrap.
Here is a list of the most Frequently Asked Questions and their Answers:
How much do you pay for Tungsten Carbide Scrap?
We monitor the Carbide scrap price on a daily basis. The scrap price is influence by supply and demand in the marketplace. The Tungsten Carbide Scrap commodity is priced in US Dollars so the final price is highly dependent on the current US Dollar to UK Sterling exchange rates. We will always offer you the best price that we can. Generally the more scrap you have to offer the better the price.
Do you buy small amounts of Carbide Scrap?
Yes but due to the excessive weight of Tungsten Carbide we find that anything under 5 KG is not usually worth the cost you pay for postage or collection. Better to save up a larger amount and send it in one go.
Do you collect the Scrap?
Yes we do collect the scrap and will arrange collection for only £9.95 for anything up to 30 KG. Please see How We Work to find out more.
How do you Pay?
We can pay you in 2 different ways, either by sending you a cheque or a BACS bank transfer into you account. We are very quick payers and on receipt of your scrap you will be paid within 1 – 3 days.
Do you buy HSS?
No unfortunately this requires a totally different recycling process so we cannot accept High Speed Steel (HSS).
Do you buy Tungsten Carbide with Braze?
Yes but we will have to assess the quality of the scrap on receipt. Too much braze can be a big problem.
Do you buy Mixed Steel and Tungsten Carbide?
No unfortunately all Tungsten Carbide would have to be separated from the steel and brazed.
